Is Detroit Metro the best airport for me to fly into?

If you're flying into Michigan, Detroit Metro (otherwise known as DTW) is the place you want to be.

How do I get from the airport to Camp Stitchalot?

You have a couple options.

1) Renting a vehicle is a very good option, and can be done from the airport. Sometimes campers will arrange to share a rental to offset expenses. If you are renting a vehicle you'll need directions from the airpot to Hankerd Inn, which you can get by clicking right here

2) If you would prefer for someone else to do the driving, and your plane is arriving between noon and 4 pm on either Thursday or Friday, we can pick you up at the airport. There'll be a short layover at Pink Castle Fabrics, and then around 4 pm each day we will depart as a group for Camp Stitchalot. There'll be a small additional charge for this service and we can only offer it between the hours of noon and 4 pm on Thursday and Friday. If this is something you'd like to take advantage of, contact us at admin@pinkcastlefabrics.com.

Will you pick me up from the bus stop?

If you are riding the megabus into Ann Arbor and you arrive between noon and 4 pm then yes, we can. Contact us at admin@pinkcastlefabrics.com to let us know when you're arriving.

What about the train station?

If you're coming by train, you should plan to disembark in Jackson, Michigan. The Jackson Amtrak station is about five minutes from the Hankerd Inn and if we know when you are arriving, we can arrange to pick you up. Contact us at admin@pinkcastlefabrics.com to let us know when you're arriving.

Accommodations

What are the facilities like?

All campers stay at the "barn". This one-time barnhouse has been converted into a charming, rustic residence with all the amenities one could ask for. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the building itself spacious, and there's even a kitchen available day or night for our guests.

Do I have to share a bed with someone else?

If you selected the Queen Bed option, then yes.

Can I have a room to myself?

Normally, no. We prefer that everyone has an opportunity to attend Camp Stitchalot, so we try make as much space as possible. But we also recognize that privacy is a very important concern for some. If you were to purchase two identical tickets, it would be the equivalent of having a room to yourself. Contact us at admin@pinkcastlefabrics.com so we be sure your room assignment is booked correctly.

What do I need to bring?

Other than typical overnight type belongings, all you need is the fabric and accessories necessary to work on your projects. Each camp we feature a few "official" projects (which are completely optional). We send a materials list a few weeks in advance of camp so you have time to purchase what you need. All materials can be purchased at Pink Castle Fabrics and campers receive a 15% discount for any camp-related materials they choose to purchase.

Can I rent a sewing machine?

We offer $30 rentals for the whole weekend. Our sewing machines are Bernina 350 Patchwork Editions. If you'd like to rent a sewing machine, contact us at admin@pinkcastlefabrics.com.

Do I need linens, pillows, or blankets?

No, the rooms are completely furnished. You can, of course, bring your own if you'd like, but it's not at all necessary.

Do I need to bring food or beverage?

Meals are provided, and they're excellent. You can, of course, bring snacks and beverage if you like, and there is a kitchen available day or night if you decide you want to make a snack (or a meal).

What if I have special dietary restrictions?

Let us know and we'll do everything we can to help out! Our hostess prepares all the meals herself and thus far we haven't had any request she couldn't accommodate. If we ever do get such a request, we'll reimburse you for the meal portion of your ticket and assist you in locating what you need to prepare your own weekend meals. Contact us at admin@pinkcastlefabrics.com to let us know if you have special dietary needs.

Miscellaneous

If the Camp I want to attend is sold out, can I be put on a waiting list?

Yes! Contact us at admin@pinkcastlefabrics.com and we'll add you to our waiting list.

What is your cancellation policy?

Camp Stitachalot tickets are non-refundable but they are transferable. What this means is that if you can not attend, you can arrange for someone else to make use of your tickets. If the camp you're attending is sold out, we'll help facilitate such a transfer. In the case of an emergency and where a transfer of tickets is not possible, we may instead transfer your spot to a different Camp, so you'll be able to attend at a later date.

Again, if you have any questions still unanswered, please email admin@pinkcastlefabrics.com and we'll gladly sort out any concerns!
