Camp Stitchalot - Winter 2013
Who: Camp Counselors!
Jeni Baker - In Color Order
Anna Graham - Noodlehead
Debbie Grifka - Esch House Quilts
Rossie Hutchinson (your hostess) - Fresh Modern Quilts
December 6 - 8, 2013 (Friday-Sunday)
December 5th (Thursday is an optional extra day)
Learn how to make pillows, bags, and useful little quilts as we take you through a set of projects that will be perfect for holiday gifts and give you the chance to learn (or brush up on) a wide variety of sewing skills and projects!
There will be plenty of open sewing time (the sewing room never closes) so bring your own projects as well! We’ve had campers finish large quilts and entire summer wardrobes during their free sewing time...just be sure you bring enough projects to keep you going! The optional day on Thursday will not offer any classes, just 24 extra hours of sewing time with some cool new friends! You have to be signed up for the weekend to come to the optional Thursday.
The classes we are offering are NOT required! There is plenty of room at the Hankerd Inn to set up a sewing space or hang out with some hand work and chat with friends. This is your vacation! We all want you to relax and get things done (or not!) There is enough space for everyone in each of the classes so if you do want to take all of them you can, no sign ups needed and no extra charge for the classes. We will be sending you a materials list in plenty of time to get the fabric required for classes.
At this camp we will be teaching you different sewing projects. Our classes will be taught by three fantastic sewists.
Jeni Baker (In Color Order) is a fabric designer, pattern writer, author, and blogger. Jeni will help us make perfect pillows with pizzazz!
Anna (Noodlehead) is a prolific sewist and blogger, she’s probably best known for her amazing bag patterns, and she’ll be leading us through one of her most popular and versatile patterns: the 241 tote!
Debbie (Esch House Quilts) is a regular contributor to magazines and books. Known for her cool, minimalist style, Debbie will be showing us how to make hot pads and casserole pads to add charm and beauty to any kitchen.
Please note: camp teachers sew alongside the campers all weekend and are always happy to help with projects or chat about their favorite techniques. The class topics were selected to give campers a variety of techniques and tools, but are not the only topics teachers love to talk about!
Feel free to bring books, magazines, and patterns for teachers to sign! We will set aside time for this on Sunday.
** Fabric requirements will be sent out a month or two before Camp. **
10350 Hankerd Road Pleasant Lake, MI 49272
Everyone is sharing a room! Just like camp! If you are coming with a friend and want to share a room with a queen bed, select the Shared Queen Option. In the notes please mention the person you will be sharing with. Rooms with twin beds have 2-4 people in them depending on the room. If you are coming with a friend and would like to share with them please mention them in the notes and we will do our best to accommodate! Anyone who wishes to have a queen bed room all to themselves will just have to purchase 2 Shared Queen tickets and write that in the notes.
Brunch and Dinner are included in these prices! There are kitchens in every house so feel free to bring snacks and extra beverages! Alcohol is allowed (as long as you are over 21!) and we ask that you drink responsibly.
Only 31 spots will be available for Quilt Camp!
*** We will not have sewing machines at camp. If you are traveling from afar and need arrangements please email me. Machine Rentals are available! ***
